Other InformationMemorials: A Story of Human Interest
From the time Princess Diana of Wales, and Dodi Al-Fayed passed away, two memorial shrines have been installed inside Harrods in tribute to the couple. One, unveiled on April 12, 1998 is located at the foot of the Egyptian escalator which had photographs of the two people behind a pyramid look-alike display holding a wine glass with smudged lipstick from Diana’s supposed last dinner.
The second memorial, unveiled in 2005 is situated beside the escalator at door 3. A bronze statue of the two dancing on a beach under an albatross stands at this site.
These have become attractions for the curious shopper, which along with the one thousand and one items in this monstrous department store truly makes Harrods the place to shop.
