It’s that time of year again which means that in just over one week’s time many of the UK’s largest retailers will be participating in the annual Black Friday event, which sees prices being slashed on thousands of different products across a wide range of categories.

Whether you’re an avid bargain hunter who is looking to find the ultimate discount, or you’re considering making a purchase and would like to save some money if possible, Black Friday is for you. By putting your purchases off until the 25th November you could save yourself as much as 50% on the RRP if you shop at any of the stores that are participating this year.

Unfortunately not all retailers participate in Black Friday due to the fact that the last two years events did cause some controversy, and Black Friday is not quite as popular in the UK as it is in the USA. Nevertheless there are quite a few of the nation’s retailers participating so if you’re looking to save some money on your early Christmas shopping then Black Friday is definitely the time to do it.

Here are the stores that have confirmed that they will be participating in Black Friday on 25th November, 2016:

Argos logoArgos is the UK’s leading digital retailer that offers over 33,000 products through the website, which receives more than 430 million visits every year. The new Fast Track delivery service means that you can enjoy the products that you purchase online on Black Friday the very same day.

Currys logoThe UK’s leading online retailer of consumer electricals has been participating in Black Friday for a number of years. Last year, Currys brought us some incredible deals including £200 off selected Samsung and LG TVs, 50% off Dyson vacuum cleaners and as much as £600 off HP laptops. This year, black Friday 2016 is anticipated to start at 6am as it did last year.

John Lewis

John Lewis logoJohn Lewis have always had the commitment to never knowingly be undersold, which means they are one of the UK’s favourite department stores to take part in Black Friday 2016 because they pledge to match their competitors’ prices all year round. You can save money on a wide variety of items either online at or at your nearest John Lewis department store.

Debenhams logoIf you prefer to shop at Debenhams then you can still take advantage of the Black Friday sales as they promise to offer amazing deals and discounts on your favourite brands this year as well. The Debenhams Black Friday deals begin on Monday, 21st November so be sure to visit it if you’re looking to treat yourself and your loves ones this year.

New Look

New Look logoNew Look is probably the most well-known of all of the UK fashion retailers and they are offering customers the shopping event of the year with an entire weekend dedicated to great deals and discounts across their entire product range. In addition to the great Black Friday deals new customers can also save 30% on their first purchase when they sign up to the New Look newsletter.

Tesco Direct

Tesco Direct logoTesco Direct are offering one of the largest of all of the Black Friday sales. Starting at 9am on Monday, 21st November and running all the way through until Thursday, 1st December you’ll be able to shop thousands of items at heavily discounted prices. You can also take advantage of the Anytime Delivery Saver plan free trial and get completely free deliveries for a month.

Amazon logoNo Black Friday would be complete if Amazon wasn’t involved. Since the tradition began in the UK, Amazon has always offered the biggest and best Black Friday sale with savings on tens of thousands of products. This year Amazon are hosting the longest of all of the Black Friday events with a massive 12 days of savings. In fact, the savings have already started and have been going for 4 days already, so head over to Amazon now to see the deals for the remaining 8 days.

These are the UK’s largest retailers who are participating in Black Friday 2016, however there are many more. It is worth checking in advance to see if your favourite retailer is participating in order to avoid disappointment, and don’t forget that many of the retailers that are involved in Black Friday also offer discounts and deals on Cyber Monday as well. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are probably the last two days of sales before the run up to Christmas so if you’re looking to save money on any of your Christmas presents this year then now is the time to start planning.

Good luck and happy shopping!
