The Biggest Shopping Day of the Year has finally arrived. As I write this, thousands of shoppers (like yourself) are scouring the internet for discounts on vacuum cleaners, laptops, games consoles and lots more consumer electronics. Others have been queuing outside of shops since the early hours of this morning hoping to get a great deal on a 4k TV or a new tablet.
Shoppers both online and in the stores are expected to spend almost £2 billion today – over £1.5 million every minute – as retailers brace for a surge in sales as they offer up new deals for Christmas spenders who face the threat of looming price hikes in the New Year due to the fall in the value of the pound after the EU referendum vote.
Virtually all of leading high street names are embracing the US-based shopping bonanza this year with many stores such as Tesco and John Lewis offering extended opening hours. Even the consumer giant Apple got involved this year offering lightning deals since 14th November.
If you’re looking for electrical bargains this Black Friday, then you’re in luck as these products seem to have the biggest discounts this year. Check out stores such as Argos, Currys, John Lewis and of course Amazon to find great discounts of a wide range of consumer electricals ranging from Apple iPads to TVs.
There are also some great deals on the latest smart phones to be had today, especially if you’re looking to buy a SIM free handset as opposed to a contract. One of the biggest savings can be had on the iPhone SE where you can save £214 at Three.
Games consoles have been selling cheaper than usual – especially the PS4 and the Xbox One as newer models will be out in the coming days for the run up to Christmas. If you’re looking to buy a PS4 or Xbox One bundle then you can typically save about £50 on the total cost.
Boots announced their Black Friday event with some great savings on a number of designer fragrances as well as up to 50% off electric toothbrushes. If you’re looking to buy Christmas gifts from Boots, then you will probably save more money if you take advantage of their annual 3 for 2 on Christmas gifts, which should be starting in the not-so-distance future.
If you’re looking to replace your old vacuum cleaner then this year is a good time to do it, with Dyson offering discounts of up to £200 on the latest models – a great deal if you were in the market for buying one anyway.
Kitchen appliance have also seen prices slashed across all electrical retailers, with appliances from all of the world’s leading brands such as Tefal and Morphy Richards being discounted by as much as 40%.
If you were looking for some discounted clothing, then head over to Debenhams and House of Fraser for some bargains, although you will probably be able to save on the majority of Autumn lines as stores begin to stock the latest fashion trends for Winter 2016/17.
